Dear Mr & Mrs Johnson,
I am writing in response to your complaint letter about the noise from my flat. I feel that I have to explain myself and humbly ask for your forgiveness.
Last Monday one of my windows in the kitchen was broken as a cricket ball hit it directly while some children were playing in front of my flat. I tried to refit the window in the evening after I got back from the office. It took me a long since I have no prior experience in this type of work and I regret that I did not hire a professional.
Unfortunately, I thought that the sound will not reach your home but it eventually did. Since you have suffered due to the noise, I sincerely apologise for this. Moreover, I promise I will be more careful regarding this in the future.
Once again, I am extremely sorry for any inconvenience that might have happened due to my negligence.
Yours sincerely,
Mark Arther

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Smith,
I’m writing to express my gratitude for your kindness towards me when I was staying with you and your family.
London’s beauty and the spirit of its people have me in awe, and I feel very lucky to have seen so many wonderful places and made so many friends while I was there.
We all miss you, Libby, Tom, and your family very much. I was able to speak English more fluently and felt at home by spending the full day with them.
Not to mention the enjoyable conversations we had and the delicious meals you served. As I got back to Vietnam, I couldn’t help but tell my parents and friends about my experience in London.
I would love to visit you in a year or two and hope to see you all then.
Wish you all the best!

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to complain about a meal we had in your restaurant yesterday. “
We had booked a table for six but when we arrived there were no free tables and we had to wait for more than 45 minutes to sit down.
From the menu of 12 dishes, only four were available and their quality was poor. The fish, in particular, tasted awful and the waiter was rude when we told him about this.
We have eaten in your restaurant several times in the past but this is the first time we have receive such bad treatment. I am not asking for a refund but I would like you to improve the quality of your dishes and service.
Yours faithfully,

Dear Sir/Madam,
I was wondering if you could answer a few questions for me right now as a student who will be attending Harvard University beginning in the fall.
I’ve heard that Every English major is reportedly required to complete four papers throughout their first year of study. I’m interested in knowing what I should research for the articles on these topics and whether I’ll be able to pick up new information at the same time.
Could you also tell me how much the course will cost? Although I do have a scholarship, I’m not sure if it will cover all of my living and tuition costs.
In addition, I also have a reservation at the university dorm. The cost each week has been mentioned as $200. You could check the accuracy of this information.
I value the time you spent answering my questions. I sincerely appreciate your assistance.
Sincerely,
Jane.
